Motivational Speaking/How to Win Friends and Influence People/The Law of Attraction

When Dale Carnegie wrote a book that was first published in 1936. 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' was the first book of its kind. It lies at the foundation of an industry that began as instruction on how to speak publicly, to training for business men, to what is now called 'The Law of Attraction Industry'.

It was Dale Carnegie's discovery that by speaking about something which made a person angry, that person was able to speak freely in public. This principle is used to this day to control crowds at games, conventions and through out politics. Carnegie's book moved political debate from the form of highly intellectual efforts to sound sophisticated to practical down to earth appeals to humanity.

The most skilled and gifted users of his work know how to take an audience from a lowly, base mind set and lift the entire group to the level of being moved to change the world for good. It takes tremendous discipline in such a setting for a listener to step back from the lecture and discern the agenda that is being promoted. For nearly 80 years now, individuals have been swayed by such lectures and influenced to act, sometime in not very smart ways.

During this time, even though medicine has advanced from a level of mystical magic through high specialization which understands of every particle of the body to the level of great intimate detail, we have seen an ever increasing amount of illness. In nations where education levels are high, the skills of how to win friends and influence people are quite prosperous. Those are the nations where dis-ease is the the greatest health issue.

Dis-ease can be seen in all aspects of life. Those who do not have lives full of dis-ease are those who step out of their little box and seek to understand their paradigm. In doing so, they evaluate what their goals, ambitions and dreams are. They then choose to how they will set up the equation of their lives.

I will address these equations in this blog. It is these equations or patterns we make choices which determine our outcome. If we do not like the outcome of our lives, we need to adjust our equations. The patterns of our lives can be full of dis-ease or full of harmony. They can be shaped by the influence of others, or we can establish a central control for our lives that brings us the patterns we want.
